Let’s Get High (Waisted Swimwear)

High waisted swim suit bottoms could quite possibly be the best swim trend to ever return. Slimming and comfy (if you invest in a well-fitting suit), slightly modest but still totally sexy, I dove right into this trend. (Ok, I’m done with the puns, now, I swear.)

Sweatshirt Weather

The polar vortex might be over, but it’s 20 degrees and snowy here in Pittsburgh, so I think it still qualifies as sweatshirt weather. Did I mention that this is the best trend, ever?…Second only, maybe, to luxe sweatpants….

Sweaters That Start Conversations

One of my top trends this fall is definitely graphics. Graphic tees, graphic sweatshirts, and, my personal fave, graphic sweaters. I love them even more when they have puns or cheeky sayings on them. Because what’s more “conversational” than your sweater making a pun?

J.crew has some unique DIY denim styling ideas, including my favorite: DIY patchwork monogram and patch-pocket fading. I’m up for giving the patchwork monogram a try one of these days, but in case you aren’t so inclined to spend time on these looks, here are some great store-bought alternatives. View all of J.crew’s DIY denim ideas here.

A Week of Inspired Outfits: Friday

Well I did it! I eliminated five decisions each workday by creating five unique looks on Sunday. These outfits were inspired by some of my favorite brands, including Free People, Lands’ End Canvas, and j.crew. Below is Friday’s look. Like Wednesday, the Free People outfit served as more of an inspiration than a hard and fast guide, and I tried instead to capture the feel of the look.

Check out Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for more inspired outfits.
